Ian Machado Garry apologizes to Do Bronx after UFC 310 loss
The partnership between Ian Machado Garry and the 'Pontapé Boxe Diego Lima' team seems, in fact, to be consolidated. Just over a year ago, the Irishman arrived in São Paulo (SP) to train at the gym whose main exponent is the former lightweight champion (70 kg) Charles 'Do Bronx' Oliveira. And since then, the relationship between the welterweight (77 kg) and the members of the Brazilian team seems to have blossomed. Proof of this was the way 'The Future' dealt with his defeat at UFC 310, last Saturday (7).
Even with the presence of Charles Do Bronx and Diego Lima in his corner, Ian was surpassed by Shavkat Rakhmonov in the 'co-main event' of edition number 310. After the show, at the house where he was staying in Las Vegas (USA ), the promising Irish fighter found solace in the arms of the former Brazilian champion and apologized – in good Portuguese – for the negative result. The image was shared via a video posted on Garry's YouTube channel.
“Sorry, teacher. Sorry, professor”, said Garry as he hugged Charles.
End of invincibility
The defeat to Shavkat Rakhmonov at UFC 310 put an end to Ian Machado Garry's unbeaten record in professional MMA. Now, with the points setback last Saturday, the Irish fighter – seventh in the Ultimate welterweight rankings – has a record of 15 wins and one loss.
