Vitor Petrino suffers brutal knockout and loses second fight in a row in the UFC
Victor Petrino he wasn't happy at UFC Tampa. At the event held this Saturday (14), the Brazilian faced Dustin Jacoby and suffered a brutal knockout in the third round. In this way, the athlete suffered his second defeat in a row.
In May, Vitor lost his unbeaten MMA record to Anthony Smith, in the middle of Brazil. With the new setback, the Brazilian moved away from the top-15 light heavyweights (93 kg) in the UFC.
Vitor Petrino, 26 years old, is one of Brazil's main promises in the UFC. The Minas Gerais native began his MMA adventure in 2019 and debuted with the company in 2023. In the sport, 'Cabuloso' built a record consisting of 11 wins and two losses. His main triumphs were over Modestas Bukauskas, Rodolfo Bellato (twice) and Tyson Pedro.
The fight
After a period of study, Vitor applied a clean jab to the American's face. In response, Jacoby landed a low kick on the Brazilian. Little by little, Vitor entered the fight and started throwing crosses at his opponent. In the exchange, Jacoby continued to rely on low kicks. Powerful, Vitor destabilized his rival with a powerful direct shot. At the end of the round, the Brazilian tried to take down Jacoby, but failed. During the exchange, the American scared Vitor with a cross.
In the second round, Vitor went on the attack and shook the American with a jab. Agitated, the Brazilian blitzed his opponent. Experienced, Jacoby bet on the volume of strikes to affect his opponent's rhythm. Confident, Vitor once again shook the American by landing a powerful direct shot to his face. At the end of the round, the Brazilian hit Jacoby again with his right, but he also received jabs.
In the third and final round, the athletes exchanged low kicks. In an attempt to surprise the veteran, the Brazilian looked for a takedown, but was unsuccessful. In the exchange, Vitor once again landed powerful punches on his opponent. Then, the Brazilian looked for a grappling fight. However, Jacoby defended himself again. Without despairing, the veteran landed a powerful straight shot, which erased the Brazilian instantly.
