Cyril Gane shows damage to his foot after injury suffered at UFC 310; look

Last Saturday (7), on the main card of UFC 310, in Las Vegas (USA), Ciryl Gane left with his arm raised after dueling against Alexander Volkov. The Frenchman's performance, however, was considerably below what MMA fans expected. The performance below his true potential inside the Octagon could have a logical explanation: an injury suffered at the beginning of the fight. Days after participating in the numbered card, The former interim heavyweight champion showed, through an x-ray, the damage caused to his left foot.

Through the Instagram 'stories' platform (see below or Click here), Gane shared an image of his foot in which it is possible to see damage to the bone structure in at least three different regions. The French heavyweight did not reveal whether fractures were confirmed, but this is the trend, given the results of the x-ray released by himself. Shortly after the end of the fight, Ciryl had difficulty moving and had to be removed from the octagon with the help of members of his team.

“Not only was the toe (injured), but also both metatarsals gave way at the beginning of the first round. Needless to say, there was nothing left of the left foot, but we didn't give up and fought with them (injured)”, detailed Gane, when explaining where his injury was most serious.

Controversial result

Injuries aside, the duel between Gane and Volkov generated great controversy due to the result considered controversial. Winner in the judges' split decision, the Frenchman even tried to defend his triumph at UFC 310, but most fans saw the Russian's advantage in the clash. Dana White even apologized to Alexander right after the fight and named him the winner, in his opinion, during the post-show press conference.
