Mike Tyson admits he can't remember the fight with Jake Paul

In mid-November, the world stopped to watch the boxing match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul. With a true duel of generations in the ring, the show led by athletes became the most broadcast sporting event in history, with more than 108 million viewers. But despite the magnitude of the card and the fight that led it, curiously one of its protagonists barely remembers the details of its accomplishment.

During a recent interview with 'Fox Sports Radio', Tyson admitted having difficulty remembering the confrontation with the YouTuber. Despite having shared the ring with Jake Paul for eight rounds of two minutes each, the veteran of the noble art revealed that, in addition to not having revisited the duel afterwards, he can only remember specific moments of the dispute.

"I don't know, I don't remember much about the fight. I kind of blacked out a little bit. I didn't watch the fight (after the fight). Do you know what I remember? When I was coming back from the first round, Jake was doing something like a (bow) to me. That's the last thing I remember. I even thought he was going to hit me (laughs). I was thinking, 'What are you doing?' I wasn't tired or sweaty. I don't remember (Jake's power). But my body was really sore (the next day)my chest, my stomach, quite sore”, admitted Tyson.

Statement worries fans

The age difference between Mike and Jake was a médio issue for countless fans and even fighters to criticize the fight. But beyond that, the veteran's clinical condition also worried fans and enthusiasts of the sport. After all, the duel between the boxer and the YouTuber was postponed in May on medical advice. At the time, Tyson experienced nausea and dizziness due to an ulcer attack.

Later, after the fight was rescheduled, Tyson worried fans by admitting that he had difficulty walking just two months before the fight with Jake Paul. Now, with the boxer's latest statement, a new alert has been raised in part of the noble art community. Some fans are paying attention to a possible sign of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a disease popularly known as dementia pugilistica and which has memory loss as one of its main symptoms.
