Attentive to Topuria's movement, Diego anticipated and passed the responsibility to Volkanovski, allowing him to choose where and when the possible fight between them could take place.

It is worth noting that this was not the first time that the Brazilian challenged 'The Great'. Previously, Lopes even expressed his interest in facing the Australian at home, that is, in hostile territory. And the athlete's search for such a fight is valid, as he is number three in the UFC featherweight rankings, while Volkanovski is ranked first, below only champion Topuria.
