UFC: Du Plessis exudes confidence for rematch with Strickland
Dricus du Plessis finally discovered who his next opponent will be. Last Saturday (7), the UFC made official the rematch between the middleweight champion (84 kg) and Sean Strickland as the 'main event' of its 312nd show, scheduled to take place in February, in Australia. Voted 'International Fighter of the Year' at the 'MMA Oscars', the South African exuded confidence in projecting a reunion with his rival.
On his official account on 'X', Du Plessis, undefeated in the UFC, stated that he will beat the American again, but now, clearly. And the athlete's intention is explained. In the first fight between them, held in January, the South African defeated Strickland via split decision, a result that sparked discussion in the MMA community, becoming middleweight champion. Willing to silence his critics and prove his superiority to the 'bad boy', Dricus promised to inflict a severe punishment on him in the Octagon.
“This time, They won't call it robbery, they'll call it attempted murder #ufc312 #preparetobesurprised”, wrote the UFC champion.
